On July 3 2023, GIADA holds the second GIADA Academy at the Brera Library in Milan, which was built in 1770 and has a history of more than 250 years. It is a classic landmark and one of the libraries with the largest collection of books in Italy. Being the only luxury brand in history that has a long-standing partnership with the Brera Library, GIADA has been the only brand that has held fashion shows at the venue.
The second GIADA Academy centers around the theme "Introspection", continuing the focus on art education and female power, and exploring the diversity of women. The event holds a panel discussion with the theme "Reading Brings People Together". The panel is moderated by talk show host Chen Luyu, joined with Director of Brera James Bradburne, contemporary art curator Caroline Corbetta, founder & CEO of Schwa Helen Nonini, Director of the Ingram Collection of Modern British & Contemporary Art Jo Baring, and actress Zhang Jingchu. Opinion leaders with outstanding achievements in art, business, fashion and other fields gather together to share a conversation about what inspire them and their thoughts on knowledge and feminine power. Piano maestro Clive Britton, model and author Maye Musk also make their appearances at the event banquet.
Gabriele Colangelo, creative director of GIADA, delivers an opening speech on behalf of the brand, and shares his story as the creative mind of the brand and how he interprets GIADA woman through his design, "I've always been fascinated by women with a strong personality, which means a strong confidence linked with gentleness. So strong and gentle is the adjective I would love to use to describe the type of women that I design for." This is the embodiment of what Flower on the Rock means as the brand's totem to symbolize the soft power of GIADA woman.
The second Academy not only shares knowledge, but also provides a uniquely crafted art experience. The experience workshop aims to " bring one more life experience" and "open one more window" to women.GIADA collaborates with Brera Art Museum to design two unique art museum experiential courses. In one session, James Bradburne, director of the Brera Library and Art Museum, guides the guests on an in-depth visit to the Museum providing a unique professional perspective. The other session is a painting experience workshop carefully prepared by Riccardo Taiana, a senior lecturer at the Brera Art Museum. He shows the guests the painting reproduction process to impart a clearer understanding of the relationship between underlying painting and color.
The second GIADA Academy embodies the brand ethos of "Art to Art" with its educational event program and inspiring female figures, deeply reflecting GIADA’s commitment to the restoration of Italian art and advocation of feminine power. GIADA hopes to truly nourish women not only from a fashion perspective, but also by cultivating inner strength and opening more windows for women.
